Vikki Bernstein-Gay began Redwood Equine Partners about nine years ago. She received a degree in Counseling from Antioch University and has been working in the human services field for approximately thirty-five years. Vikki is a member of EAGALA, Level II certified, and a member of the OK Corral Series. Redwood Equine Partners has evolved by utilizing the training and certification received from both of the above plus a combination of additional training and experience, and last, but not least, input and feedback from clients and colleagues.

Holly Dibrell has been working with horses for about 15 years and completed a year of Equestrian Studies in Findlay, Ohio. She is certified Level I by EAGALA, and a member of the OK Corral Series. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work and has a background in mental health and substance abuse. She has been working with Redwood Equine Partners for over a year.

Joyce Maire earned her EAGALA Level I training about five years ago. She was born in Humboldt County and raised on a ranch. She has a great deal of experience and training in working with horses.

Cocoa Cocoa is a mustang mare. She was born and lived in the Nevada Wild Horse Range, Nevada, for the first three years of her life. She was adopted by Vikki and Michael Gay at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale, California in 1990.
Buddy Buddy is a Quarter Horse/American Paint gelding, born locally in 1995. He became part of the Ferndale family in 1998.
Jake Jake is a half Arab, half Mustang gelding. He is the son of Cocoa and was born on the property in April, 1996.
Phoebe Ms. Phoebe Snow, (born Dusta Grey Chick) is an American Quarter Horse Mare born in Utah in 1994. Vikki met Phoebe at the EAGALA Level II training in Utah. She was owned by Greg Kersten at the time. Phoebe came to live and be part of the Ferndale family in October, 2004.

In Loving Memory

Sail Sail Ahead was a Thouroughbred. He was purchased at the Ferndale Fairgrounds in August 1989, after the annual races. He passed away January 2, 2008. Sail was a partner to many who came here as clients. He was a big part of the Ferndale family and he taught all of us who met him some very valuable life lessons.
